BlackNet AZ is a coalition of dedicated organizations and leaders committed to the advancement and strategic collaboration of the Black community in Arizona. We serve as a central hub, connecting individuals and organizations that share a common goal of empowerment and positive change.

BlackNet AZ stands as a pivotal resource hub for Black community leaders, organizers, directors, and organizations across Arizona. Our primary objective is to facilitate collaboration, foster empowerment, and build power within the Black community. Through our work, we strive to create robust ecosystems that provide meaningful support and opportunities for growth within Black communities.

Our purpose is two-fold: to empower individual leaders and organizations within the Black community and to strengthen the overall ecosystem that supports Black communities across Arizona. Through collaborative efforts, we aim to amplify voices, provide resources, and create lasting change.

Community Agreements

We recognize that we are not always going to see eye to eye or agree on values, strategies or goals. We want to honor each of our unique approaches while fostering a space of shared respect and collaboration. To achieve this we have created some community agreements we expect each of us to follow.

Community Agreements

  • This space has been created to foster connection and collaboration in the AZ Black community. We value and seek to uplift all identities in this space.
  • We are united not by our values but by our connection in and service to the Black community. Not everyone or every organization will match the values that you represent, but you have the opportunity to further your work with those that do.
  • Everyone is an important part of the Black Arizona ecosystem, there is no role too big or small. Every skillset is important.
  • Religion and politics of all types are respected but this isn’t the space to proselytize or debate.
  • We all agree to do the work of creating a collaborative container for a respectful environment by not othering people with a goal of collaboration not competition.

  • Don’t assign motive to someone else’s position.
  • Respectfully disagree. No personal attacks or walking away.
